Of Fortune, Love, and Marriage

Grateful, inspired, humorous, and in 7th heaven -- these are my words to today.

I'm sure you had experienced school fairs way back in the elementary years. There are booths of every kind -- food, horror, romantic, fun, and etc.  It's one of those childhood memories I hold dearly and it was in 4th grade when I had my fortune told.  Whether it was true or not, somehow has gained a spot in my subconscious or lets say engraved.   It said I'm going to marry a man from across an ocean.  So, this has always been my peg.

If most girls have this tall, dark, and handsome even rich criteria, mine was different.  It doesn't even include the distance.  Hahahaha I can't remember if I had revealed this to hubby but I also can't reveal them now here
.  Two things are certain, he must not be rich and he must be good in Math.

Idealistic?!  I had a lot of crushes who wouldn't, it's normal for a girl.  I had moments of falling in love but it's only me who knows hehehe and a few times of reaching the point of giving it a try but I am too glad to have not.  What for?  For the sake of trying and having someone to call a boyfriend?!  As a girl, all I can do was wait, call me conservative .  Of course, there were also panic moments hehehe because I already graduated and has a job!  Some of my friends are already taken, some are taking the road to marriage,  some are married and me still enjoying the perks of singlehood!  It took long years of waiting until real love moved in mysteriously and surprisingly.   Finally, we found each other in 1999 and tada!  I really thank God for granting the wishes of my heart.  I married a patient, understanding, responsible, my one and only Licensed Mechanical Engineer husband ... Jack.  He must be good in Math, huh?!  Worth the wait !

Exactly 10 years ago, we walked down the aisle and made our commitment before God, before our families, friends, and colleagues.  Our marriage has been blessed with the presence of Z.  Like any marriages, we also have our own trying times, happy moments, challenging years, crazy and wonderful years.  Despite the different adjectives and verbs 10 long years is a milestone.   Here we are still standing proud, together, and absolutely Married.  Great job to us because cliché as it is "It takes two to Tango.".

Hours from now our weekend sojourn for this milestone begins.  Our destination is not a new one but the event later tonight will definitely be a magnificent one.  We are going on a road trip and let this be your clue for now.

I don't want to be late so I'm in my last few lines.  In behalf of Jack, to all our families and friends who were with us 10 years ago, thank you so much.   Thank you for the prayers.  Cheers to all of us and love, love, love!

About the fortune? If Negros Occidental is an ocean away, then it must be true :).

10 years and counting!  Have a magnificent weekend! Fireworks!
